Learn To Row Instructor
Emilie has been involved with the sport of rowing for
nine years. She rowed in high school for the Lincoln Park
Juniors in Chicago, IL. She was then recruited to University
of Cincinnati's NCAA Division I Women's Rowing on athletic
scholarship. After graduating and becoming the program's
first four year letter winner, she began her career as
a competitive coach at UC. She coached the varsity fours
for two years and moved on to become GMRC's first head
coach in 2007. Emilie left GMRC in 2008 to finish the
requirements to become a Registered Dietitian at Loyola
University Chicago and has now returned to resume building
the rowing community in Butler County.
Having been on both sides of the recruiting table, Emilie
has a wealth of knowledge regarding what it takes to be
recruited to a collegiate program. If you're thinking
of rowing in college, Coach Emilie is a great place to
start gathering information!
Jackie began her rowing career as a novice at the University
of New Hampshire's Division I Women's Rowing Program.
She was then recruited to the University of Cincinnati
Division I Women's Rowing team and awarded an athletic
scholarship. Jackie has been coaching for GMRC since it's
Youth Program inception in the Spring of 2008 and served
as the club's interim head coach during the 2008-2009
school year. In 2008, she attended the Joy of Sculling
Clinic in Saratoga New York- the most premier coaching
education opportunity offered for the sport of rowing
in the United States.
Coach Geoff rowed competitively for 4 years at George
Mason University in Virginia. During which time he served
as on the team board as President and Vice President.
He also won the teams esteemed Hammer award
for demonstrating significant speed on the erg (indoor
rowing machine). Geoff has two years of high school coaching
experience at Oakton High School in Virginia. Geoff still
competes occasionally and is an avid indoor rower.
After rowing competitively for 3 years at Marietta High
School in Marietta, OH, Kegan served as team captain two
years running for the University of Cincinnati Men's Crew.
Upon completing his personal rowing career, Kegan coached
the UC Novice Men's team (2004-2006). Under his direction
at UC the Novice Men's program was their largest team
to date. Kegan will be working with our novice crew this
year.

Masters Coach
Tony has eight years of direct involvement in competitive
rowing. His rowing career started with University of Cincinnati
Men's rowing team and since then he has rowed with the
Lebanese rowing Federation at FISA's Arab Rowing Championship
(2005). He has also served on the Board of Directors for
the Cincinnati Rowing Club (2008). Tony holds USRowing
Level-I Coaching Certification and will be working with
our novice crew this year.
Knowledgeable Coaching Staff
Rowing is a dynamic and constantly changing environment. Our
coaches work hard to stay on the cutting edge in rowing trends
and research. They regularly attend conferences such as Jim
Joy's The Joy of Sculling and the USRowing Coaching Conference
and attend lectures given by experts in the field such as:
Bebe Bryans Head women's coach at the University
of Wisconsin,
Larry Gluckman Head Coach, Trinity College, former
Princeton, Dartmouth, and a US Olympic Coach,
Todd Jesdale Head Coach of Thomas Jefferson High
School and one of the most successful coaches in the USA
over the past 40 years
Tim McLaren One of the world's foremost Olympic
rowing coaches, has recently accepted the position as Director
and Head Coach of the Oakland-based California Rowing Club.
Al Morrow Development Women's Coach for Canada,
1999 FISA Coach of the Year, Olympic Champion, 1992,
Ed McNeely, M.Sc. Strength Coach, Canadian National
Rowing Team, author of Training for Rowing,
Volker Nolte, PhD Professor, University of Western
