MUH Rowing Fall Kickoff Meeting

Welcome!

Let us be the first to welcome you to the Miami Hamilton Rowing Club. As a member of the MUH Rowing Club you have decided to embark on an exhilarating journey. The MUH Rowing Club is for everyone whether you’re here to row competitively or for fun. By being a part of the MUH rowing club you will learn about rowing and how to master the rowing stroke. The club has undergone an enormous transformation since its founding in 2007 by the Great Miami Rowing Center.  

Practice Attendance

While participating in the Rowing Club does require a commitment in order to learn the rowing stroke, we understand that Miami Hamilton students are busy both at school and home. Attendance at practice is important, but if you have to miss here or there it’s not a problem.  We ask that you let your coach know ahead of time so we can change our plans as well.
 

Schedule & Location

We will hold practices on Mondays and Wednesday from 6-8pm. Practices will be held at are outdoor site located at 110 N. B. Street in Hamilton, unless otherwise notified by coaching staff.  In the event of storms or other harsh weather, we’ll practice indoors at 10 Journal Square in downtown Hamilton (just off High Street) near Kofenya and Ryan’s Tavern.
 

Seasonal Competition

During the fall season, we will attend the Hamilton Fall Classic on October 22, 2011 on the Great Miami River in downtown Hamilton.  This should be a great way for us to end the fall season and get motivated to work hard this winter!   

During the winter season we will move indoors and workout out on the rowing machines and do group circuits and lifting.  In early February (date is still TBD by the LOC) we will participate in the Cincinnati Indoor Rowing Championships.   

This spring, in addition to getting out on the river, we will be working together to put on a 5k run/walk along our rowing course.  Anyone from the community may come and participate.  We’ll need everyone’s help and ideas to make this an awesome event! This is new this year so the possibilities are endless!

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.  If you’ve missed the preseason meeting, don’t worry!  Come out to a practice and we’ll get you started!
