Join GMRC in Celebrating Independence Day

All are welcome to join us for a day of fun or come from just one of our events. The details for the day are listed below. Just make sure you register so we can plan. Wear some Blue & Burgundy or your exclusive Twilight Row shirt!

4th of July Parade
SIGN UP HERE to march in the parade. The sign ups help us for planning purposes, but don't worry, you can still march if you don't sign up!

Directions
Bring your family and friends to represent GMRC! The staging ground for the Hamilton 4th of July Parade is at the Butler County Fairgrounds located on Route 4 just north of High Street/Hwy 129. Please go to the entrance near the Butler County Engineer's Office (north of the main entrance) for drop offs. We will meet there at 9AM and Coach Emilie will bring the trailer with boats.

The parade begins promptly at 10AM. The parade route goes from the Butler County Fairgrounds down to High Street and through Hamilton to the old Court House. GMRC participants will then walk across the bridge to GMRC's site at 110 N. B Street where participants are to "disburse." GMRC will do a quick hands in for the crowd to hear. Please check in with Frances before leaving in the morning.

If possible, it is best leave your car at GMRC and get dropped off at the Butler County Fairgrounds. We may, however, need a system to shuttle individuals from GMRC back to the fairgrounds.

"It's a Grand Old Flag" Float Competition
We will be towing the trailer in the parade this year, which constitutes a "float." While we've made no official effort to deck the float out, we're hoping to borrow everyone's 4th of July decorations for the morning. Cash prizes ranging up to $1,000 will be given out for the best floats! Why not give it a shot! Bring your flags (mark them with your name) and take them back home after the parade!

Twilight Row and Cookout
SIGN UP HERE to reserve your seat to row. Rowers with seat reservations will get priority, if you haven't signed up don't worry, we'll try to fit you in somewhere!

Just as last year, we will be rowing for the thousands of spectators waiting to watch the fireworks! All experienced rowers are encouraged to join us on the water for a fun row and pieces on the water. Please sign up via the SignUpGenius account located on the website or via the link below.

We will also be enjoying a potluck BYOM dinner, the GMRC grill will be available for all to use. So bring some meat and a small dish to share and enjoy front row seats for the fireworks! GMRC will provide plates, napkins, utensils and water. Still want to row but can't make it for the BBQ? That is okay too!

Parking will be on a first come first served basis so get there early! We will launch around 7:30PM and must be completely vacated from the water by 9:00PM (landing must begin no later than 8:40PM).

Gear
Gear sales are officially over. The 4th of July shirts that were preordered will be distributed at the parade on the fairgrounds and at the BBQ/Twilight Row. Beyond that, you must come to GMRC during regularly scheduled programming to receive. Be prepared to wear your shirt for all the 4th of July activities.
