Carpools and Travel
GMRC travels to regattas in carpools. If you do not have a ride, please notify your coach and our Head Chaperon will assist you in finding transportation to the regatta. We require notice 1 week in advance, otherwise you must fare on your own. It is every rower’s responsibility to assure arrangements are made in adequate time.
Deadline to have GMRC arrange your ride: Saturday, April 3
Please refer to the general regatta document handed out at the beginning of the season for recommendations on what to pack and what to leave at home.
Please plan to leave Butler County by 6:00 AM on Saturday morning.
Booster Coffee Clutch 8:00 AM
This is a program during the morning for parents and families to gather and review the plan for the day. It is a great way to get updated on the frequent schedule changes. For novice parents, this is a great way to learn about the sport.
Post Race
After every event, the coach and rowers gather to talk about the pros and cons of the event. Parents, please give this meeting some distance and wait to speak with your athlete until after the “debriefing.” This is meeting a major part of the learning process.
Please find additional information about racing and what to expect from the day in the GMRC Parent Handbook and the Regatta Document sent home at the beginning of the season.
A
special thanks to the community for your continued support!
