All novice events will be time trials and the top 6 times from all the heats will advance to the finals. There will be a short break in the schedule and the finals will be in the afternoon. Official times have not been posted, however, as soon as they are this information will be updated at www.greatmiamirowing.com/regattas/hooverinvite10
Post Race After every event, the coach and rowers gather to talk about the pros and cons of the event. Parents, please give this meeting some distance and wait to speak with your athlete until after the “debriefing.” This is meeting a major part of the learning process.
Coaches, Cox’s Meeting
A mandatory meeting will occur at 7:00 AM on Race Day at the Walnut St. and Sunbury Rd shelter house. Anyone coxing a race must be at the race site in time for this meeting.
Carpools and Travel
GMRC travels to regattas in carpools. If you do not have a ride, please notify your coach and our Head Chaperon will assist you in finding transportation to the regatta. It is every rower’s responsibility to assure arrangements are made in adequate time.
Please refer to the general regatta document handed out at the beginning of the season for recommendations on what to pack and what to leave at home.
Please plan to leave Butler County by 5:00 AM on Saturday morning.

From Cincinnati
1) Take I-71 North through Columbus
2) Take 670E
3) Take I-270 North to Exit 30 (SR 161 East New Albany
Exit)
4) Take SR 161 East to the first exit (Sunbury Rd.)
5) Turn Right (north) onto Sunbury Rd.
6) Regatta site will be on your right at Walnut St. (about 2
miles)
Spectators
The tents should be set-up south of the Walnut Street shelter
house.
Booster Coffee Clutch 8:00 AM
This is a program during the morning for parents and families to gather and review the plan for the day. It is a great way to get updated on the frequent schedule changes. For novice parents, this is a great way to learn about the sport.
Parking
Parking for spectators is available in the upper and lower dam
lot (Smokeburr St. and Sunbury Rd)and later at the Windsor Bay
shopping center. There will be two shuttle vans to assist beginning
at 7:00am.
Passenger Cars
Look for regatta parking signs. There will be shuttles at the
upper and lower dam parking lots (the 1st light that you will
come to when you see the water, when traveling from the south)at
Smokeburr and Sunbury Rd. If these lots are full, the shuttles
will go to Windsor Bay shopping center, Sunbury Rd & County
Line Rd, (which is north of Walnut)
Boat trailer, food trailer and
bus parking
Boats trailers will park at the Walnut Street lot and the boat
ramp lot just north of Walnut Street. Food trailers will park
at the Walnut Street lot and on Sunbury Rd. curbside near the
tents (Saturday morning only). NO OTHER VEHICLES will be allowed
to park at the Walnut Street lot or the boat ramp lot. Vehicles
dropping off rowers and supplies must do so on Sunbury Rd curbside
(lane will be closed) just north of the Walnut St light. That
area will be marked drop off zone. No vehicles may remain unattended
in this area. We have very limited parking at Walnut St and
ask that you please cooperate.
