SPRING 2009

This weekend our racing Masters team competed at the Midwest Masters Championships at Eagle Creek in Indianapolis, IN. They brought home hardware in every event GMRC entered and achieved third place overall as a team! Congratulations to the rowers for a gold medal in the Mixed Masters 8+, a gold medal in the Mixed Masters 4+, and a silver medal in the Men's Masters 4+. The Men's 4+ was by far the most exciting and challenging race of the day! We're proud of all their accomplishments!

FIRST RESULTS OF THE SEASON! MUH raced its first race of the season this Saturday on Acton Lake in Hueston woods. The young MUH team raced its sister school- Miami Oxford. The crew of Dan, Josh, Mike, Alyssa and Cassie raced to a second place finish behind the Oxford team. MUH was just a few seconds behind first place and many lengths ahead of third. Congratulations to a kicking off the season with some great racing.

Congratulations to the GMRC participants at the Cincinnati Indoor Rowing Championship. We had a great showing. Chris Gordon of Lakota East High School won the H.S. Novice Boys event. While Bethany Grim, a rower who just started this winter placed third in the H.S. Novice Girls race. Many of the other GMRC rowers earned their own ‘personal bests’ during the 2,000 meter race.

Miami Hamilton Rowing performed well by racing into the middle of the pack in the Collegiate Novice Men’s event.
