As per the radar, it looks as though the current storm will blow through just as practice begins. We will, therefore, continue all rowing as planned.
Fall 2008

Practice Schedule
We have teams for experienced rowers as well as students brand new to the team. There is NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY to join! Please read about each team below and decide which team is best for you! The entire team, novice and varsity, will practice at the same time and the same site. The "novices" (beginners) will learn the basics and the varsity will continue where they left off last Spring.

Varsity Team: $250/season
This team is for anyone who rowed during the previous year (Rec or Elite) and wishes to race. These students will practice 5 days per week for 11 weeks and will participate in several regattas this fall. Please note that Thursdays and Sundays will be off.

Parent Meeting for experienced rowers will be August 27th 6:30PM at the Fitton Center for the Fine Arts.

Recreational Team: $150/season
This team is for students who wish to try out the sport of rowing but cannot make the time committment required for racing. These students will practice 3 days per week for 6 weeks. Students may participate on the recreational team and have until September 26th to move to the Varsity Team.

Parent Meeting for experienced rowers will be August 27th 6:30PM at the Fitton Center for the Fine Arts.

Novice Team: $150/season
Students with no previous rowing experience will be classified as novice. All novices will begin rowing on the Recreational Team 3 days per week.

Parent Meeting for NEW rowers will be September 8th 6:30PM at the Fitton Center for the Fine Arts.

Racing Novice Team: $250/season
Those novice rowers who wish to race this fall may then choose to become part of the Racing Novice Team. These rowers will spend the first 2 1/2 weeks of the season on the Recreational team and then begin the 5 day per week training schedule. Those who wish to continue rowing and not race will row with the Recreational Team through October 17.

Parent Meeting for NEW rowers will be September 8th 6:30PM at the Fitton Center for the Fine Arts.

The racing team will have additional racing fees, which will cover travel and trailer costs.

Tentative Regatta Schedule
All information listed below is tentative and subject to change.

River Days Festival (Varsity Only)
September 6-7, 2008
Hamilton, OH

Exhibition row for the Annual River Days festival on the Great Miami River. We will launch from our B Street location and row for the River Days spectators. Details will be posted as soon as they are available.

East Fork Chase Regatta (Varsity Only)- TBD
September 20th, 2008
Batavia, OH

A nearly straight 3,000 meter stretch of East Fork Lake in Clermont County. Attending this race is dependent upon the crews readiness and practice quality in the early weeks of the season. The coaches will determine whether the team will race here by Friday September 5th.

Hamilton Fall Classic
October 18, 2008
Hamilton, OH

This will be a 3,000 meter head race. Teams will be invited to scrimmage on the Great Miami River.

Jack Speakmon Memorial Regatta
October 25, 2008
Columbus, OH

This will be a day trip/all day regatta without an overnight stay. This Event will host several regional Youth teams as well as collegiate and masters teams.

This will be a day trip/all day regatta without an overnight stay. This Event will host several regional Youth teams as well as collegiate and masters teams.
