ADVANCED BEGINNER YOUTH
ROWING CAMP
Youve never rowed, but youd love to try it? Sign
up for our Advanced Beginner Youth Rowing Camp. All sessions
are ideal for those looking for a low-impact yet tough, cardiovascular
team sport. Youll learn the basics of the sport and improve
your overall fitness level. And youll meet kids from all
over the county!
The Great Miami Rowing Center offers a completely beginner-based
rowing program for kids ages 12-18 or evening sessions for adults.
You will learn the essentials of sweep rowing (one oar per person)
with both land training on rowing machines and on-the-water
training on the Great Miami River. The focus is on basic rowing
skills and terms, with an emphasis on learning how to row as
a crew of 8 or 4.
Camp is held at the Great Miami Rowing Center at 110 N. B Street,
Hamilton, OH and is led by the GMRC coaching staff, directed
by Head Coach Emilie Graham.

What To Bring
Typical athletic gear is all that is required, as long as it
is not too baggy. Baggy clothing can get caught in the movable
seats of both racing shells and rowing machines. Please wear
gym shoes, not sandals. Bring a snack and a water bottle.
Safety Information
We are serious about safety and strictly adhere to the safety
regulations established by our sports governing body, the U.S.
Rowing Association. We row rain or shine as long as there is
no danger of lightning. If storms do occur, the camp can easily
move indoors for continued training on rowing machines.
